Hi Hi Hi.

Fresh off the bike from Holland, I have a few (um, or maybe more than a few) images to share of the Van de Visser wedding.

You may remember Suzanne from a few years back

During her two year stint as a nurse on Mercy Ships, she chronicled her journey and shared her passion with anyone willing to read. But as someone who wears her heart on her sleeve, she also exuded the same passion in her being… which is what, I am sure, landed her the Dutchman aboard the ship who specializes in underwater robotics. [Underwater Robotics must be the dutch equivlant of a rocket scientist, right?] While on the adventure of their lives, they found each others life-long adventure buddy so it was only fitting that the get away car used was a Land Rover.

Michiel hails from Ellewoutsdijk, a small town in the dutch province of Zeeland, so in step with their adventurous ways, they married in his village and I had the honor of attending and documenting along the way.

The Dutch do weddings differently than we do in America. For example, church ceremonies are not recognized by the state… therefore we had a civil AND church ceremony in the same day. Not to mention lunch, and dinner separately from the reception. Guests are invited to one or two of the events but only 22 were actual DAY guests… meaning they attended all the events of the day. I was so confused. But luckily I was only responsible for photos.

Michiel and Suzanne have returned to America but they will never quite settle in. Their hearts remain in Africa so this is simply  a waiting room until they return and continue the rest of their adventure.

And Suzanne, in the words of Michiel on your wedding day… “you are so beautiful, I cannot remove my eyes”
